IRAN CULTURE WEEK HELD IN PORTUGAL
Culture Week of Islamic Republic of Iran, featuring photography, book, and handicrafts exhibitions of our country is being held in Porto, Portugal.

Culture Week of Islamic Republic of Iran, featuring photography, book, and handicrafts exhibitions of our country is being held in Porto, Portugal. According to IRNA correspondent, sponsored by the IRNA Embassy in Lisbon, the exhibition would be held at Porto’s Porto University till Friday, May 22, 2009.

During the week Iranian full length features “Life and Nothing Else” by Abbas Kiarostami, “The Blackboard” by Samira Makhmalbaf, “The Night Bus” by Kiyumars Purahmad, and “Willow and the Wind” by and Mohammad-Ali Talebi will be screened in original Persian language with Portuguese subscripts. At the Iranian Handicrafts Exhibition, too, there is a unique collection of inlaid works, embossed works, and enamel works on display.

Iran’s Ambassador to Portugal Rasoul Mohajer elaborated on the achievements of the Islamic Republic in the course of the past three decades at the opening ceremony of the Culture Week. Porto University is one of the oldest state universities of Portugal and the most prestigious one in the northern part of the country, established in 1911. The university has 29,000 students that is the largest number of students enrolled at a university in Portugal.
